Coalition seeks to strengthen national climate plans, end new coal power development, and align policies with a 1.5°C trajectory
Oakland, CA – October 7, 2021 – Vigilent, the leading provider of Dynamic Cooling Management™ systems, today announced its support for the We Mean Business Coalition, which is working to catalyze business and policy action to halve emissions by 2030 and accelerate an inclusive transition to a global net-zero economy by 2050. The action is timed with the upcoming G20 and COP26 talks.
Vigilent uses artificial intelligence and data-driven insights to reduce the amount of power required to efficiently cool heat-producing data centers and telecom exchanges, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The We Mean Business Coalition united 600+ companies to urge G20 countries to:
- Strengthen national climate plans to cut global emissions in half by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions no later than 2050
- End new coal power development and financing immediately and plan to phase out coal-fired power generation, while promoting electrification of transport and uptake of renewable energy
- Align public finance, COVID-19 recovery spending, and fiscal policies with a 1.5°C trajectory
The coalition and its supporters are urging the world’s biggest economies to deliver on the existing commitment of $100 billion in climate finance annually for developing countries, to end fossil fuel subsidies by 2025, and to put a price on carbon.
