Joins businesses across the U.S. in calling for strong action at United Nations Conference on Climate Change

Update April 2016: Vigilent joins USA businesses in supporting the Clean Power plan as an update to the Low Carbon USA declaration.

wsj-ad-miniOakland, CA. (Dec. 1, 2015) Vigilent® today announced that it is joining major US business leaders and organizations, such as the Business Council for Sustainable Energy, Environmental Defense Fund, and Environmental Entrepreneurs in calling for decisive action on climate change at the upcoming United Nations COP-21 Climate Summit in Paris. The organizations are jointly participating in a full-page declaration in today’s Wall Street Journal encouraging the U.S. government to seek a strong and fair climate deal, support action to reduce U.S. emissions, and encourage investment in a low-carbon economy.

Vigilent is leader in dynamic cooling management systems that improve reliability, increase capacity, and reduce energy consumption in data centers and telecommunications facilities worldwide.

“Greater energy efficiency is essential to reducing CO2,” said Vigilent CEO Dave Hudson. “We are proud of the impact we’ve had reducing greenhouse gas emissions, especially in the energy-intensive data center industry. Vigilent is a great example of how innovative technology can dramatically improve sustainability while delivering other important business benefits.”

Vigilent technology reduces cooling energy use and CO2 emissions by 20-60% within days of deployment, with an average reduction of 38% across hundreds of deployments. This reduction is achieved by dynamically matching cooling to IT usage in real-time. Using predictive control and analytics driven by machine learning software, the Vigilent system transforms cooling from an often energy-wasteful function to the precise delivery of cooling only where and when it is needed.
